about me:
My name is Jessica St John, but everyone I’ve ever cheered with knows me as “SJ.” The 2012 worlds will bring me to the end of my 7th year of cheerleading, but hopefully not my last! I’ve cheered with the cheer sport sharks and Wilfrid Laurier University, in Ontario, Canada, as a base and a flyer. I’m currently on the cheersport grey reef sharks, open all-girl 6 and team Canada all-girl 5 - this is my first year! My personal record at worlds is 2nd, 4th, and 3rd with the cheer sport great white sharks (open all-girl 5), and 5th with the grey reefs!
why i’d make a good spokesmodel:
I think I’d make a good spokesmodel because people can relate to me. I’ve been the base who didn’t know what she was doing, and I’ve been the base who saved the stunt all on her own. I’ve been the flyer who’s fallen at a competition, and I’ve been the flyer who knows what it feels like to make her coach proud. I’ve had back row jumps, and I’ve had front row, hyper extended jumps. I’ve been the shy one on the team and I’ve been the leader who gets everyone pumped up. I’ve had a not so great coach, and I’ve had the most amazing woman in the world as a coach (Ali Moffatt haha). I’ve had injuries and had to sit out, and I’ve worked past them. I’ve lost tumbling skills, I’ve had mental blocks with everything from back walkovers to standing fulls, and I’m now 100% comfortable throwing the hardest skills I’m capable of (I don’t have the standing full yet!) Cheerleading is a sport that I know too well and love too much, and I’ve learned that working hard and putting your heart and soul into the sport will get you good results, and that’s what we’re all trying to do right? I’m always there for anyone who wants to talk or needs advice and I always thoroughly answer every question I get. And I think that’s why I’d make a good spokesmodel :)To vote for Jessica, reblog and/or like this post!
